A cafe in Craigieburn is seeking a full time team member (approx 35 hours per week: 8am to 3pm Saturday - Wednesday). This will include two days running the kitchen and three days working alongside the head chef.

To be considered for this role you should:

• Be available both days on weekends, as well as public holidays
• Have at least 3 years of experience as a Cook in a similar role
• Have the ability to work in a small and busy kitchen
• Have Australian work rights

We are seeking a reliable, motivated and creative chef to assist with the daily service and preparation of the breakfast and lunch shift. We are looking for someone with a passion for cooking who can introduce some exciting new items to our menu. This is a great opportunity to work in a fun and busy environment. 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Be punctual, reliable and be able to cover a shift when another team member is away.

• Be able to work quickly with attention to detail

• Have excellent hygiene and be able to keep a clean and tidy work area

• Have common sense and be able to cope under pressure

• The ability to work/cook alone

You will take responsibility for stock management and maintaining a clean and safe environment for your team. You will work with the management team to build our positive reputation in the community, control costs and manage kitchen stock.

Job Duties:

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
• Manage and rotate stock
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
• Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
• Recording food temperature
